So the 8 weeks of New Year, New Start are over. Unfortunately, the Beast from the East and Storm Emma combined to prevent us from doing the fitness test. That means I can’t say for definite how much fitter I’ve become in the last 8 weeks.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve had two Track Attack sessions each week as well as a number of taster sessions such as TRX, Boxercise, Boot Camp, Spinning and Total Body Body Workout. Of these, I only missed three sessions. This is something I’m pretty happy with.

Even without the results, I can see an improvement. In the classes, I’m pushing myself further than I’ve been able to do in a long while. I feel fitter, faster and stronger. I’ve visibly lost a lot of weight and I’m fitting into clothes I haven’t been able to wear in a while. I’m feeling more energetic in life and I’m sleeping better at night. So all in all, things are going well.

I’d like to thank Derek and Rose from the UL Sports Arena and to the Limerick Sports Partnership for organising this. Special thanks to my fellow participants. It’s been great sharing this challenge with you.

I’ve already started my next challenge – the 46-day exercise challenge. Over the course of Lent, myself and a number of others are committing to do 30 minutes of exercise challenge per day (2% of your day). As well as my twice weekly Track Attack sessions and hiking at the weekend, I’m back doing Couch to 5k. I’ve 30 days left to go. Keep an eye on my twitter and instagram pages for updates
